WORRYING TREND IN YOUNG RELATIONSHIPS - Loughborough ...

February 9th, 2012

AN INCREASING number of young people are being caught up in domestic violence, a key visitor to Loughborough College revealed today.

Krishna Tailor, Domestic Violence Integrated Response Project?s helpline co-ordinator, was speaking as the organisation supported our Healthy Relationships campaign in the B-Block foyer.

She said: ?It is becoming more and more apparent that this is happening in young people?s relationships as opposed to being caught up in their parents? disputes.

?The reason we are here is to promote the service available to young people ? including the students of Loughborough College ? and the support that is out there.?

At the same event, Chaz Ram, of Leicestershire Aids Support Services, said they were keen to provide information that young people may not be aware of.

This included the fact that HIV testing, with instant results, can be carried out at their office?s in Leicester and the existence of Pep, a treatment that may prevent HIV infection if taken within 72 hours of the virus entering the body.
