Spotlight on Excellence ? Patty O'brien, PT ? themindofjohnbaker

Patty O?brien, home physical therapist for BRG

If you live in the Brunswick, Maryland area, Patty O?brien just might be the blur that rode past your window yesterday morning.

That?s because she is training for the women?s age-group triathlon nationals this month.? The rigorous swimming, biking, and running program that she has been putting herself through proves one very obvious characteristic about the kind of person Patty is? committed.

She?s been a committed physical therapist for Baker Rehab Group for more than 5 years.? Patty has been a physical therapist for 13 years, and has worked in a variety of settings.? She hopes to one day become certified in cardiopulmonary physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association.? On doing home health physical therapy, Patty said,

?I enjoy working in home health therapy because we are able to build close relationships with our patients in their homes and uncover and remover barriers to better health and mobility.? Home health is like a box of chocolates- you never know what you?re going to get, and it never gets boring.? I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life in our community.?

Between her six day-a-week training schedule and her busy family life, it is remarkable that Patty is always available to help out, step up, and pitch in.? She?s very much a go-to person in the Baker Rehab organization when things get busy.? The office staff sings her praises about her helpfulness and consideration of the bigger picture.? It?s clear that her lifetime involvement in sports (collegiate soccer star) has influenced her team-player attitude and humble nature.

Patty even deflected this Spotlight piece a little bit, saying,

?If you do decide to write about me, please include that I am honored to be selected because I think my colleagues at Baker Rehab are some of the best clinicians in the area.? Case in point, I covered a couple of patients for Amy Clouser at Edenton and was blown away by her evaluations- very thorough and to the point.?

Patty, of course we would decide to write about you.? You are truly a gift to this organization and provide excellent clinical care to your patients.? Best of luck at nationals!? We are so proud of you.

Patty provides physical therapy in the home to much of Southern Frederick County in Brunswick/Jefferson and Washington County, Maryland.? If you?d like her to come work with you or your family member, please email us or call our office at 866.727.3422.?
